But as we explained, there are extremely advanced products, tools and processes available and we proudly utilize them at Colonial Commercial Cleaning.

If you’d like to learn more about the science behind microfiber cleaning cloths and how they provide a superior clean, please read last week’s blog here.

This week we’re going to cover a very important tool in the era of coronavirus and one that we’ve been asked about lately—electrostatic spray disinfection systems.

A Positive Charge for a Deeper Clean

It’s no secret that with the highly transmittable nature of COVID-19, a deeper level of cleaning is required to fight the spread. That’s why our staff incorporates the use of Electrostatic Spray Disinfection to aggressively sanitize our clients’ facilities.

Not many people outside of the commercial cleaning business had heard of this prior to now. But with heightened cleaning concerns, many of our clients are asking if we use it and what exactly it is. In a nutshell, it is a device that sprays chemicals on surfaces.

What makes this very different from a spray bottle or other device is that when the disinfecting chemical exits the electrostatic sprayer, it is broken down into droplets and given a positive charge. The droplets then land on the surfaces to be disinfected. Those surfaces are negatively charged so they naturally attract. This allows for the surfaces to be evenly coated.

Without getting too technical, here are the top three benefits of using this system:

  1. It allows for better controlled and more efficient application of disinfecting chemicals.
  2. Makes it easier to disinfect hard to reach surfaces.
  3. More areas can be disinfected in less time due to the efficient application the system provides.

The staff and service teams at Colonial are trained in the proper use of the electrostatic spray disinfection systems and have done an outstanding job using the at our client facilities.

Now you know how electrostatic spray disinfection systems work and why we utilize this amazing product in the facilities we are entrusted to clean.
