This year has brought so many new words into our daily lives. Pandemic, COVID-19, immunity response and herd immunity are a few of the ones we never anticipated being a part of our daily conversations.

But one word that we have always made a priority has become more important than ever—Community.

At Colonial Commercial Cleaning, we interact with all areas of our community throughout Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC. From places of worship to veterinarian offices and from major mail delivery centers to dental practices, our community is diverse.

And in a year where it has taken extra effort to maintain the bonds of community while maintaining social distance, we would like to extend a few special thanks to our community members.

To Our Colonial Employees, Thank you

In March of 2020 as shutdowns were put in place, there were many unknowns. Sacrifices were made by everyone so that we could continue to provide superior service to our customers.

Thank you to our essential employees who came to work every day, who made masks for those who needed them, who learned new skills and went to new places to provide extra deep clean services.

To Our Colonial Clients, Thank you

At Colonial, we know that you have options when it comes to your cleaning needs. You trusted us to have the expertise and training to provide the services that you wanted and that were recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

It has been a pleasure seeing our community safely reopen and for patrons to return with confidence

To Our Suppliers, Thank you

Many of you may not be aware, but demand for the products that we require to provide proper sanitization rose sharply and supplies became very scarce in March of 2020. Thankfully, we had already been using CDC recommended products and protocols and we were already equipped to sanitize facilities. It was the hard work of our suppliers and support staff that we were able to continue to secure the quality products required to serve our community.

Our Commitment Continues

While news of a vaccine is certainly welcomed, our commitment to providing superior sanitization and janitorial services continues.

The coronavirus remains a threat to our community and requires a deeper level of cleaning. That is why we will continue to follow CDC guidelines on the specific products and cleaning protocols needed to effectively clean and disinfect your facility.

As a reminder, here are the CDC guidelines that we are following very closely:

  1. We use high-quality EPA-certified products that are on the approved CDC disinfectants list to fight against SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes the disease COVID-19. We also use color-coded microfiber cloths and mops to reduce the chance of cross contamination.
  2. Product Use & Cleaning Training: Our service teams are thoroughly trained on the proper procedures to follow when cleaning and sanitizing commercial buildings to help fight the spread of viruses like COVID-19. They are also closely supervised to ensure our high standards are met.
  3. Cleaning Protocols: We follow the step-by-step guidelines outlined by the CDC to clean and disinfect all areas specifically “high touch” surfaces such as handrails, doorknobs, elevator buttons, faucets, toilets, bathroom and kitchen countertops, towel dispensers, buttons and switches, common surfaces and floors at least 1-2 times per day. If you need any additional information about the areas we clean, we would be happy to share that information with you.
  4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): We minimize the risk of exposure to our staff by following the CDC guidelines on PPE such as wearing gloves, masks and frequent handwashing.
